Union family member killed in Gilroy mass shooting

Six-year-old Stephen Luciano Romero was the youngest victim of the mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival last month. His father is an IBEW Local 332 apprentice.

The union has donated $5,000 to a Go Fund Me account to help his family pay expenses in this tragic time.

“This time the horrible and unthinkable has hit home for all of us. Our Brother’s loss is unimaginable to most of us. Let’s make him feel the love from his extended IBEW family,” the union said in a Facebook post.

Nicknamed “El Romantico” by his uncle for his good manners and love of button-down shirts, Romero was at the festival with his grandmother and mother, who were also both shot but survived.

Union sisters and brothers who wish to donate to the family can do so by going to www.gofundme.com, then type in Romero’s name. Or CLICK HERE
