Chavez March Draws Record Crowd

Turnout High Despite Rain

More than 1,800 activists turned out for the 14th annual Cesar Chavez March on March 31 despite torrential rains that overflowed gutters, drenched banners and left participants dripping.

Attendees gathered at Southside Park, where dancers kicked off the event, before marching to Cesar Chavez Plaza at J and 20th.

Members from IBEW Local 340 came out to show solidarity during the March event.
